Skylark PR has limited availability for pro bono work, where we offer our time free to good causes and charities. Below is an example of how we supported the amazing work done by the charity Masks for Scotland – if you have a request for pro bono work, it’s always worth getting in touch using our Contact page.

£439,197 Raised, 600 Deliveries, 1,100,000 PPE Items Donated to GPs and Care Homes by Masks for Scotland

We were proud to support the amazing awork of Jill Belch, Professor of Vascular Medicine at the University of Dundee in Scotland, who harnessed the power of volunteers to stand up for frontline workers in the fight against Covid-19.

Jill set up Masks for Scotland in April 2020 with the help of her daughter, Scottish actor Joanna van der Ham, and music producer Mr Hudson.  In total, they raised £439,197 in just over one month. An army of volunteers including 40 drivers saw 1,100,000 PPE items donated to frontline staff across Scotland.

With the help of the Scottish Government to bring 20,000 isolation gowns from China, Angela Higgins of Resonance Capital provided transport for deliveries that were stored courtesy of Perth Airport.

Jill, Joanna and Mr Hudson enlisted the help of Edith Bowman who organised her epic livestream fundraiser For the Love of Scotland’, enabling the charity to reach its £200k target. It raised £80k and included music, literature, poetry and chats with Scotland’s favourite stars as well as stories submitted from the public about the incredible community spirit being seen across the country. ‘For the Love of Scotland’ Auction raised over £24k, which helped source PPE directly from suppliers and was donated to charities.

Significant donations were made by Franz Ferdinand, James McAvoy, and Angela Higgins while Dame Ann Gloag provided additional support from The Gloag Foundation in hosting Masks for Scotland.
